Chorus
I’ve been down too many highways
I’ve made   too many, wrong turns
I’ve walked away too many times and closed that door
But she’s one bridge, I don’t want to burn

I played every honky-tonk in Texas
From El Paso to the boarder of Louisan
I’ve been kicked off the stage for the crazy things I do
I’ve burnt that beer-joint bridge more than a time or two

Turnaround play verse

BRIDGE

She keeps the home fires burning
When I’m out there on the road

She’s waiting with a smile and drink, when I walk through that door
She loves me til the break of dawn with her heart and soul

Chorus
I’ve been down one too many highways
I’ve missed one too many right turns
I’m always going down the wrong way, of a one-way street
But she’s one bridge, I don’t want to burn

TAG She’s still one bridge,I don’t want to burn
