JUAREZ

Standing at the ticket counter, my passport in my hand
Heading  south for some sunshine, or maybe the promised  land
This  suitcase might feel empty, but its filled up to the brim
With  memories of you that keep haunting me  again

Took a taxi to our favorite hotel, with a view of the Rio Grande
Got a bucket of Coronas and a bottle of cheap Mescal
Thought the booze would help me sleep, after today's flight
Ain't nothing worth watching on TV, gonna be a hell of a night

Chorus:  Without  you, without  you

Next morning I crossed the border, at the bridge at Stanton Street
Gave a twenty to every beggar, for blessed are the meek
Had a beer in the Kentucky Club, that old hangout of mine
Watched the old men playing domino's, their way of killing time

Up the alley was that little cantina, we would go and sit for hours
Tune out the world, just me and you, that old widow selling flowers
Ain't no fun eating alone, I have quickly come to find
If I keep talking to myself like this, folks gonna think I lost my mind

Chorus:  Without  you, without  you

Wrote a postcard to my Mama, ......signed it, "From Juarez With Love
Dropped it in that little red mailbox, off to barrios to try my luck

Chorus¨ Without  you, oh, without  you, without  you
