LOVE SONG

I've wrote songs about Crooked Roads & mountains blue
Songs about Mama & Daddy, Grandpa too
I've wrote songs about Texas and ole San Antone
But why can't I write a love song

I've wrote songs that were slow and songs that were fast
Some of them were funny and some were downright sad
Songs that would make you think, or drive you to drink
But why can't I just write a love song

CHORUS
Lord knows, I tried a many times, that I just can't catch my breath
A guess I doing it all wrong, cause I love that gal to death

We've been married so many years I can't recall
My rough and rowdy days, when I was all alone
We've survived every single word of those wedding vows
That one less reason why can't I write a love song

BRIDGE:
Old friends, they tried to warn me, said she's too much like my mother
We're nowhere near perfect, but we're perfect for each other

We've been married so many years I can't recall
My rough and rowdy days, when I was all alone
We've survived every single word of those wedding vows
That one less reason why can't I write a love song

TAG:  Everytime I write a new one, my wife wants to know
Why the hell I can write a love song!
