Mama married Daddy in 1945
No electric stoves back then, you had to build a fire
For 65 years, she’s cooked for Daddy everyday
His favorite meal with biscuits and gravy

Ain’t no secret recipe, it’s all in her head
Might turn out a little different, if she wrote it down instead
A little flour and a little milk, a little Crisco too
Cook up a batch of sausage,.leftover grease will do

Chorus  Mama’s Biscuits and Gravy
To me, they’re the best in the land
Started our day, with blessed daily bread
Made from Mama’s loving hands

I traveled all around the world, found lots of foods I like
Italian, Greek, and German;  French late at night
I left home when I was 18;  went and joined the Navy
First thing I missed was Mama’s Biscuits and Gravy

Repeat Chorus Twice
